Location: Pembrokeshire, hybrid
HOURS: Full time
Type: Staff role
Salary range: £40,000.00 - £45,000.00 (room for negotiation for the right candidate)
Our client: Our client is a Pembrokeshire based company specialising in providing efficient and cost effective waste management solutions for businesses of all sizes, from small enterprises to large manufacturers. They support organisations looking to improve their waste processes, reduce environmental impact, and lower operational costs.
Their focus is centred on delivering the most suitable baling solutions for each customer, supported by dedicated aftercare and ongoing maintenance to ensure long term reliability and performance.
Job Description/ The role: The Chief Executive Officer will guide the company through its next stage of growth, helping to build a stronger, more efficient, and more profitable business. They will be responsible for setting the direction of the company, making sure operations run smoothly, managing finances, and leading the team in a positive and professional way.
This role needs someone who is business minded, well organised, and able to motivate others, while keeping the company working safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities: - Oversee the day to day running of the business, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with all legal, contractual, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Develop and implement growth plans, identify new business opportunities, and manage budgets to drive revenue while maintaining profitability.
- Build, lead, and support a high performing team, fostering a positive, accountable, and collaborative culture.
- Lead marketing, branding, and sales strategies to strengthen the company’s profile and drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Manage relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers, representing the business professionally in all interactions.
- Maintain robust financial and operational systems and use key metrics to monitor performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What is required from you: - Proven Leadership: Experience leading teams or divisions in waste management, recycling, heavy plant hire, or environmental services.
- Operational Expertise: Hands on knowledge of machinery, maintenance, waste handling, and site H&S compliance.
- Commercial Acumen: Experience managing P&L, driving profit, and creating viable pricing and contracts.
- Strategic Insight: Understanding of UK waste legislation, environmental compliance, and sustainability trends.
- Systems & Processes: Skilled in implementing efficient, compliant operational systems (CRM, scheduling, asset tracking).
- Customer & Contract Management: Experience managing high-value contracts and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Team Leadership: Able to build, lead, and develop multi site teams effectively.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Strong knowledge of H&S, licensing, and environmental permits.
- Marketing & Brand Awareness: Understands how to position an industrial brand with reliability and sustainability.
- Resilient & Decisive: Makes clear, confident decisions under pressure.
- Authentic Leadership: Values driven, high integrity, and commands respect from staff, clients, and partners.
