Job Title: Visitor Services Assistant/Activities & Events Contributor

Location: Crymych, Pembrokeshire (You may occasionally work at other locations from time to time)

Job Type: 3 month FTC that could be extended!

Pay: £24,404 (£12.65 per hour)

Hours: Monday-Sunday 9:30am-5:30pm. A 45-hour work week with the possibility of flexible hours. 

Job Description: 
 
You'll be central to creating a welcoming experience for all visitors, overseeing both reception and shop operations, and delivering a diverse program of activities, events, and school programs.
 
Responsibilities: 

• Interpret the site and surrounding area for visitors through costumed interpretation, enhancing their enjoyment and understanding.
• Deliver high quality educational experiences for school groups and other visitors, ensuring learning and enjoyment through costumed interpretation.
• Handle all inquiries about the site, providing information on opening hours, directions, events, safety, and activities in person, by email, and over the phone.
• Manage bookings, including phone reservations and checking in online bookings.
• Boost sales by effectively selling merchandise and using your product knowledge.
• Manage daily till operations, including setup, cashing up, and accurate financial record-keeping.
• Oversee merchandise, from attractive displays to stock control, ordering, and sourcing new products with the Operations Manager and Visitor Services Manager.

Requirements: 

• Proven experience in a customer facing role, ideally within retail, hospitality, or visitor attractions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with the public.
• Comfortable with basic computer tasks and able to quickly learn new systems, including online booking platforms.
• Experience with cash handling and a sharp eye for effective shop displays with strong attention to detail.
• A team player, willing to collaborate and also work effectively on your own initiative.
• Enthusiastic about working with school groups and children, and with a keen interest in history and the specific site's prehistory.
