The Role
As an Intermediate Accountant, you'll work closely with experienced leaders and advisers to deliver taxation, compliance and advisory services across a broad client portfolio.
This role offers exposure to complex tax matters, SMSFs and business advisory projects, making it an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to continue developing their technical skills and progress their public practice career.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs
• Preparing and reviewing BAS, GST reconciliations, FBT returns and Capital Gains Tax calculations
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory engagements
• Conducting taxation research and supporting complex client matters
• Reviewing work completed by Graduate and Junior Accountants
• Managing client queries and building strong client relationships
• Working collaboratively across the broader business to deliver quality outcomes
• Ensuring compliance obligations and ATO deadlines are met
• Identifying process improvements and contributing to operational efficiency
About You
• 2–4 years' experience within Australian Public Practice
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
• Strong technical taxation and compliance knowledge
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types
• Exposure to SMSFs highly regarded
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
• A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor junior team members
• Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks
