Our client SAGE Community Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced professional to join their Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) team, working alongside victim survivors to promote safety, wellbeing and empowerment through high-quality, client-centred support.
About the Opportunity… This is an exciting opportunity to join SAGE Community Services in a rewarding role supporting victim survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence. Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll work directly with clients to promote safety, wellbeing and empowerment through practical, strengths-based case management and personalised support.
The role includes client intake and assessment, coordinating referrals, managing ongoing enquiries, maintaining accurate case records and working closely with internal teams and community partners to ensure clients receive responsive, high-quality support. You'll play an important role in helping victim survivors access the services they need while ensuring compliance with organisational and DCJ requirements.

What you’ll need to succeed… This role will suit an experienced community services professional with a strong understanding of domestic, family and sexual violence and a passion for supporting victim survivors. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication, sound judgement and a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and client-centred practice.
Selection Criteria… - Relevant Tertiary Qualifications e.g., Social Work, Social Sciences, Diploma of Community Services
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence and clients with complex support needs
- A genuine understanding of Domestic, Family and Intimate Partner Violence, risk assessment and safety planning, and what it means to keep clients at the centre of practice
- Sound knowledge of domestic violence legislation, mandatory reporting obligations and information-sharing requirements
- Commitment to supporting the needs and rights of people from diverse backgrounds, e.g., Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, people from LGBQTIA+ communities, and people living with a disability
- Capacity to undertake needs assessments, provide information and referrals and develop case plans
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other stakeholders both internal and external
- Problem solving and decision-making skills both day to day and in crisis situations
- Ability to work both independently and within a small team
- High level of computer literacy (including office 365, online information client management systems)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build genuine, trust-based relationships with families and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records
- A genuine commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and ongoing professional development.
- Current NSW or National Driver’s Licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Criminal record history check (this is a child-related position)
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
