Our client, SAGE Community Services, are seeking a qualified and experienced leader to oversee service delivery across the Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) program and Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Teams (DFSV).
About the Opportunity… This new position is a key part of the leadership team at SAGE.
This role leads a team of experienced caseworkers, groupworkers and DFSV counsellors. You will also contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of the TEI program schedule and facilitate casework allocation meetings, TEI program team meetings and oversee two experienced part-time counsellors (who specialise in DFSV) to name just a few tasks.

About the Programs The Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) and DSFV programs are funded through the Department of Communities and Justice. SAGE is funded to provided services under the Wellbeing and Safety Stream with additional DFSV funded services funded to June 2026. Client engagement in SAGE programs is voluntary. SAGE provides support to families with children 0–12 living in designated areas of the Parramatta and Cumberland LGAs and DFSV support for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse women and children impacted by DFSV in the Cumberland LGA. Through case management, home visiting, groupwork, counselling, advocacy, referral and young parents’ programs, SAGE works with women, children and families to respond to and provide support for identified issues.
The details… - Part Time
- 28 hours (4 days a week – days negotiable)
- The option to work 1 day/wk from home
- SCHADS Award Level 6 (Paypoint to be determined dependant on experience)
- Based in Pendle Hill, however some transport will be required across the funded districts
About the organisation… SAGE is a community-based family support service for families in the Parramatta and Cumberland local government areas. SAGE has recently expanded service delivery to include support for male-victim survivors in the Sydney Metro Northwest and Southwest districts and DFSV services for women and children in the Cumberland local government area. The organisation has been delivering funded services since 1978, with the Department of Communities and Justice providing core funding for current programs.
SAGE provides an efficient, preventative service to families who seek support to improve their well-being. They address issues such as child development and behaviour, parenting strategies, strengthening parent / child relationships, social isolation and domestic and family violence. The centre provides a variety of services for families, including information, referral, community development, counselling, support services, home visits and group work.

What you’ll need to succeed… You will be an experienced leader with a strong background in strengths-based, client-centred, trauma-informed practice. Your knowledge and experience in child protection, family support, counselling and domestic violence work accountabilities with be sound.
You will also have an ability to understand funding requirements and manage data and reports.
Selection Criteria… - Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, or other area relevant to the role and your application
- Demonstrated leadership experience (minimum 2 years) in which you provided leadership, guidance, and management supervision to workers in family support, counselling, and/or domestic, family, and sexual violence programs
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of casework practice and key functions of case management including child protection, child development, mental health, domestic violence, and other intersectional aspects
- Experience of child protection processes and mandatory reporting responsibilities, including knowledge or impact of neglect and harm to children
- Understanding and commitment to supporting diverse clients and team members including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, LGBTQIA+ and people living with a disability, ensuring a culturally responsive approach
- Knowledge of NSW Department of Communities and Justice TEI framework, outcomes-based practice, and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, risks, and opportunities.
- Experience in consultation and working collaboratively with a leadership team, team members and clients
- High level of attention to detail and capacity to complete quality work outcomes and accountability, including prior experiencing using client management databases, statistics collation, and Office 365 programs
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and work within professional & respective boundaries and to always ensure safety of self and others
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, and experience working to deadlines.
- Personal and professional commitment to the SAGE Vision, Purpose and Values and working within person-centred, strengths-based, trauma informed, feminist frameworks
- Current driver’s licence
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
- Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- A comprehensively insured vehicle
- Experience using SRS client information systems
- An understanding of budgets
- Experience uploading data to DEX portal
- Experience in delivering presentations/training
