This is a well-regarded and forward-thinking retail brand known for its strong operational policies and commitment to best practices. The store itself is a compact yet well-equipped convenience outlet, modern spec. Their Deli and fresh food grab & Go, makes up almost 50% of the stores sales, and is staffed by a team of up to 10. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Catering Manager, Senior Deli Manager or Senior Fresh Food Manager. This store is located only a 30 minutes drive from Enfield and Moate and only a 20 minutes drive from Kinnegad. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards, and driving sales and profitability through effective stock management, waste control and cost optimisation. A strong understanding of profit and loss (P&L), sales performance and operational efficiency is essential. This role offers the opportunity to further develop leadership and commercial management skills, gain valuable exposure to back-office operations and play a key role in the overall success of the store.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the deli department, ensuring high standards of food quality, freshness, presentation and customer service.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 10 team members, managing rotas, training, performance and daily task allocation.
• Take responsibility for departmental sales, profit and loss (P&L), monitoring performance against targets and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries and supplier relationships to ensure product availability and minimise waste.
• Monitor departmental costs, including labour, stock loss and wastage, implementing effective controls to maximise profitability
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety regulations, allergen management and company procedures.
• Maintain excellent merchandising and product presentation standards, ensuring the deli counter is well-stocked and appealing to customers.
• Monitor sales trends and customer demand to optimise product availability and maximise sales opportunities.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Work closely with senior management to achieve departmental targets and maintain consistent operational standards.

• Previous experience in a deli, fresh food, food service or retail management role.
• Proven experience leading and managing a team, ideally in a busy retail or food environment.
• Strong understanding of profit and loss (P&L), sales performance, cost control and departmental profitability.
• Experience with stock management, ordering, waste reduction and supplier coordination.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and allergen management.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to increase sales, control costs and improve overall department performance.
• A hands-on approach, with a strong focus on customer service, product quality and operational excellence.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, as required by the business.
