We are delighted to work with one of Ireland's most progressive independent supermarket chains in the West of Ireland. We are assisting our client in recruiting an experienced and passionate Baker to lead and support a busy, high-volume Bakery Department in a beautiful and affluent area on the western side of Galway City. Only a 25 mins drive from Roundstone and 40 minutes away from Leenaun. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-6 years' experience working in a busy bakery, with a strong background in high-volume bread production and traditional scratch baking. They should have excellent technical baking skills, a solid understanding of recipes and production planning, and the ability to maintain consistently high standards of quality and freshness. In addition to their baking expertise, the successful candidate will have experience managing a bakery team and taking full responsibility for the department's day-to-day performance. This includes driving sales, managing stock and production levels, minimising waste, controlling costs, and maximising profitability. • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the bakery department
• Produce high-quality breads and bakery products while maintaining consistency across all items.
• Plan, organise, and manage bakery production to meet customer demand.
• Ensure products are baked fresh and presented to the highest standards.
• Train, mentor, and support bakery team members to achieve excellent performance.
• Manage workflow and delegate tasks to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Maintain attractive, fully stocked bakery displays to maximise sales.
• Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through effective production planning.
• Deliver excellent customer service and professionally handle customer queries or special requests.
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the bakery.
• Drive sales and continuously look for opportunities to improve bakery performance and profitability.

• At least 3-4 years' experience working/managing busy bakery environment.
• Experience in baking production preferably bread and food preparation.
• Ability to make baked goods from scratch or work with par-baked products.
• A bakery qualification is an advantage.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Creative approach with good eye for presentation and merchandising.
• Well organised with strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of customer needs and priorities
