This is an exciting time to join their growing team as they are looking for an Assistant Deli manager to help the deli team to achieve day-to-day sales and food production targets. The store is located on 30 minutes' drive from Tuam and a 25 minutes' drive from Gort, Ballinsole, Oranmore and surrounding areas. Candidates with cars are preferred given the early morning shifts.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fresh food operations, food safety and hygiene standards, and effective stock and inventory control. You'll take the lead in the Deli Manager's absence, keeping the team motivated and the department running smoothly. This role also requires driving high merchandising standards, ensuring counters are fully stocked, fresh and visually appealing, while delivering an excellent customer experience every day and working with the Deli Manager to upsell and cross sell food. This is a suitable opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their career and is passionate about delivering sales in Fresh Food Department. 
 

• Support the Fresh Food Manager in the day-to-day running of the fresh food departments.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team, creating a positive and customer-focused environment.
• Drive sales and maximise profitability through effective commercial and operational management.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, waste and availability to ensure optimum product ranges at all times.
• Maintain consistently high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and health & safety.
• Ensure promotions, seasonal activity and new product launches are executed to a high standard.
• Manage day-to-day operations in the absence of the Fresh Food Manager.

• Previous management or supervisory experience within fresh food, grocery, retail or FMCG.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills.
• A genuine passion for fresh food, quality and customer service.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead from the front.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to progress within a growing retail business.
