We're delighted to be working with a hugely successful Irish supermarket brand with multiple stores across Ireland and a true homegrown success story that continues to grow from strength to strength, with exciting plans for further expansion and new stores in the years ahead. Our client is seeking an experienced candidate to join their busy Fresh Food Department and play a key role in supporting the Deli Manager with the day-to-day running of the department. The store is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Clane and approximately 25 minutes from Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth and surrounding areas. Due to the early morning start times, candidates with their own transport are preferred. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to manage stock and control inventory effectively. This job also requires taking responsibility for the department in the absence of the Deli Manager, maintaining excellent merchandising standards and ensuring the deli counters are consistently well-stocked, fresh and presented to a high standard. Salary: €32,000 - 34,000 DOE
40-hour full time contract

 Key Responsibilities of Assistant Fresh Food Manager Co. Kildare

• Support the Fresh Food Manager in the day-to-day running of the fresh food departments.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team, creating a positive and customer-focused environment.
• Drive sales and maximise profitability through effective commercial and operational management.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, waste and availability to ensure optimum product ranges at all times.
• Maintain consistently high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and health & safety.
• Ensure promotions, seasonal activity and new product launches are executed to a high standard.
• Manage day-to-day operations in the absence of the Fresh Food Manager.

• Previous management or supervisory experience within fresh food, grocery, retail or FMCG.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills.
• A genuine passion for fresh food, quality and customer service.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead from the front.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to progress within a growing retail business.
