They have established themselves as a trusted name in the Irish retail market and they are seeking an experienced Butcher to run their day-to day shop operations. This shop is situated In a busy town in Co. Louth, just a 30 minutes' drive from Navan Co Meath and a 20 minutes' drive from Balbriggan. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing a busy retail butcher, cafe or deli department, knowledge of profit and loss margins and KPIs would be an advantage but not essential. 
Good people skills, solid knowledge of proper fresh food management, must have an ability to communicate with your team, organise and help the team drive sales and control overheads.
If you are passionate fresh food person and enjoys working in a customer facing environment, this is a good opportunity to run your own store and drive performance with a well known retail brand. 
  
Package & Benefits
Competitive Salary: €40,000 - €45,000

Key Responsibilities of Retail Shop Manager Co. Louth

• Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver consistently high standards of customer service and operational performance.
• Plan and manage staff rosters, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and effective allocation of resources.
• Monitor employee performance, provide regular feedback and address performance or conduct issues promptly and professionally.
• Monitor daily sales, stock levels, product availability, waste and margins, taking action where required to improve commercial performance.
• Maintain high standards of product presentation, cleanliness and shop floor organisation.
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene, HACCP and health & safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive customer experience at all times.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, service standards, efficiency and overall shop performance.
• Work closely with the Area Manager and wider management team to achieve company targets and business objectives.

Key Requirements for Retail Shop Manager Co. Louth

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail management or supervisory role, ideally within food retail, butchery, deli, fresh food or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP requirements.
• Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a team.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy retail environment.
• Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of sales, margins, stock control, waste and cost management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and demonstrate initiative.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and busy trading periods, as the shop operates 7 days a week.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Previous experience in a butcher shop will be an advantage but not essential.
