We are delighted to support one of Ireland's most successful supermarket groups in their search for an experienced Retail Butcher to join a busy butcher department within a shop in Bandon, Cork. The store is situated on a 35 mins drive from Cork City and a 24 mins drive from Clonakilty. Candidates who drive are preferred given the early morning shifts. Our client is seeking an experienced butcher with a background of working in a fast-paced butcher department. This job requires standing for long intervals, serving a large number of customers and keeping inventory in check. An ideal candidate will be experienced in deboning, cleaning carcass and preparing different kinds of meats. Also, guide customers about meat and give them advice on how to cook them, follow all the HACCP standards and work with the Head Butcher to upsell/cross sell products. • Prepare and cut beef, pork, poultry, and seafood to customer requirements.
• Ensure all meat is fresh, well-trimmed, and of high quality.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Help customers choose products and offer basic cooking advice.
• Package, label, and display meat products neatly.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and fully stocked.
• Minimise waste and use products efficiently.

• 2-3 years' experience as a butcher, preferably in a busy retail environment.
• Good knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Flexible to work weekends and public holidays on a fair rotating roster.
