They have a job opening for a qualified Head Baker for their bakery section, with ample knowledge of fresh food products and presentation of quality bakery items. A successful candidate would be a bakery artisan who enjoys the art of baking and organising the department simultaneously. A head Baker possess efficiency and right attitude to work under pressure and manage the bakery operations following all the HACCP regulations. Ideally a Head Baker is required to lead a team of 4 working under them and supervise the day-to-day operations. From handling customer complaints to merchandising the department. 
The store is situated in Co Meath. Approximately 30 mins drive from Mullingar and Maynooth. Given the nature of the early shifts required for this Bakery job, candidates with cars are preferred. The successful candidate can expect early morning shifts, as early as 5:00/6:00am start. Given the early morning shifts the job also facilitates with work-life balance with flexibility in schedule.

Responsibility for this Retail Head Baker
 

• Manage the Bakery Department efficiently and effectively at all times and provides our clients customers with excellent quality products and services.
• Ensuring that all the food and safety guidelines are followed by all staff members.
• Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders, resolving complaints. 
• Attend to the food contamination and food allergies.
• Managing Inventory.
• Introduce new food recipes or bakery items according to seasons and new trends.
• Upholding the standards of merchandising in the bakery department, ensuring product is appealing and appetising for customers to buy.
• Monitor oven temperatures, mixers, and food decorations.
• Supervise cleanliness of the Bakery Department and baking equipment.

 
Requirements for this Retail Head Baker

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a high-volume commercial bakery or professional kitchen.
• Former culinary training particularly, bread, pastries and cake is desired
• Possess a high sense of cost control, managing inventory by reducing waste and minimizing food costs.
• Previous food preparation and production experience
• Qualified baker is a distinct advantage.
• Have awareness of baker's math, measurements and right tools for baking.
• Creative and flair for merchandising and displaying fresh produce
• Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
