We are delighted to support one of Ireland's most successful supermarket groups in their search for an experienced Senior Butcher to join a busy supermarket shop in a growing town West of Cork City.
 
Located in a busy and vibrant area of Cork conveniently located within the driving distance of Cork City or Killarney, Co Kerry and surrounding areas. This particular supermarket which is undergoing a revamp offers an ideal opportunity for a skilled butcher seeking a fresh challenge and an opportunity to work with a reputable brand. You will play an integral role within the Butcher department as senior butcher, supporting the day today running of this fresh food butcher department, such as serving customers, maintaining exceptional hygiene standards, and helping to drive sales.
 
A great location, and there is room for further progression as well.
Standard morning shifts, with occasional late evening, typically off on Sundays.
Rate per hour €18, full time contract
 
Key Responsibilities for this Butcher Job:

• Prepare and cut various types of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to customer preferences and specifications.
• Ensure all meat products are of high quality, properly trimmed, and free from defects.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes.
• Package and label meat products for display and sale
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends and adjust product offerings accordingly.

 
Requirements for this Butcher Job:

• Ideally a minimum of 2-3  years of experience as a Butcher in a retail or supermarket setting
• Good knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods, controlling yield and waste
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays but fair rotation of roster is in place
