Butcher Job Co Sligo
A progressive local supermarket group who operates a number of well-known Supermarkets across Connacht, located in close proximity to Sligo town and within driving distance from Donegal, is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join their team on a full-time basis.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a friendly, outgoing, customer focused person who has experience working in fresh meat store, serving customers, offering meal and product advice would be ideal for this job. Passionate about role, standards and looking after customers are some of the key requirements for this Butcher job.
As a Butcher, you will be responsible for setting up the counters on a daily basis, cutting all ranges of meats, cleaning, whilst maintaining food safety logs and serving customers. Flexible working shift patterns for this Butcher job, mostly morning to afternoon work, with occasional evenings to facilitate the trading hours of the store.
You must be able to relocate to the area without assistance, or ideally already living in the Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal areas, ideally driving due to location of the store and early starts. 
Rate offered will DOE and includes other co perks like staff discount. 
 
Key Responsibilities for this Butcher Job:

• Prepare and cut various types of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to customer preferences and specifications
• Ensure all meat products are of high quality, properly trimmed, and free from defects
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes
• Package and label meat products for display and sale
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends and adjust product offerings accordingly

Requirements for this Butcher Job:

• Ideally a minimum of 1 years of experience as a Butcher in a retail or supermarket setting but we are open to considering a friendly butcher from warehouse environment who would like to experience customer facing role.
• Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
