Our State Government client is seeking multiple Customer Service Agents to join a dedicated team supporting vulnerable households across New South Wales through energy assistance and rebate programs.
- $35.80 per hour + Super
- July 2026 Start | Contract until 30 January 2027
- Full-Time | 37.5 Hours per Week
- Hybrid Working Available | Initial Onsite Training Required
Due to a significant increase in demand, they are expanding the team to support the assessment and processing of applications for critical assistance programs. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced customer service professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about helping people during challenging circumstances.
Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will assist customers experiencing financial hardship by assessing eligibility for government support programs and providing information on available assistance.
About the Role As a Customer Service Agent, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service and administrative support across energy assistance programs.
You will communicate with customers via phone and email, assess eligibility against established guidelines, liaise with external stakeholders, and ensure applications are processed accurately and efficiently.
This role requires empathy, professionalism, resilience, and the ability to support customers who may be experiencing vulnerable or stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities - Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email
- Assess customer eligibility against established program frameworks
- Process applications accurately and within required timeframes
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding available support options
- Liaise with external stakeholders to assist customers in accessing additional support
- Maintain detailed and accurate customer records across multiple systems
- Verify and update customer information in accordance with operational procedures
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters when required
- Deliver exceptional customer service while achieving quality and productivity targets
- Support general administrative and operational activities across the team
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: - Previous customer service experience, ideally within a high-volume contact centre or call centre environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to quickly understand, interpret and apply complex information and guidelines
- Confidence working across multiple systems and databases
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and high workloads
- Resilience and professionalism when dealing with sensitive customer situations
