Indigeco is recruiting multiple Business Analyst and Data Analyst contractors for our Commonwealth Government client based in Canberra, ACT.
These are 12-month labour hire contract opportunities supporting data, analytics, dashboard development, analytical application consolidation and business improvement activities across a Commonwealth Government environment.
We are seeking experienced candidates for the following roles:

• EL1 Technical Business Analyst
• EL1 Technical Data Analyst
• APS6 Senior Data Analyst x2

These roles are suited to professionals with strong analytical, technical, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills who can support complex government programs and contribute to high-quality data-driven outcomes.
ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a Commonwealth Government department delivering important national programs and services across Australia. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work involving data, analytics, reporting, business process improvement, dashboard development and evidence-based decision making.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

• Engage with stakeholders to capture, analyse and refine business requirements
• Facilitate workshops and support the development of current-state and future-state process documentation
• Support consolidation of analytical applications and development of dashboards
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs and other Agile delivery artefacts
• Support UAT activities, including test scenarios, stakeholder coordination and business validation
• Design and support governance structures for analytical applications, dashboards, business rules and user access
• Develop and maintain complex analytical models, dashboards, data requests and reporting products
• Prepare, analyse and communicate data from a range of sources using appropriate technical methods
• Apply quality assurance practices and contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing and technical standards
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs
• Identify when existing analytical or technical approaches are not suitable and propose practical solutions
• Communicate complex data analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior managers

YOUR REQUIREMENTS To be successful, candidates will require:

• Australian citizenship
• Baseline security clearance is mandatory
• Ability to work from the Canberra / Phillip ACT office at least two days per week
• Strong experience in business analysis, data analysis, analytics, reporting or dashboard development
• Demonstrated experience working in government, regulated or complex stakeholder environments
• Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments will be highly regarded

For Data Analyst roles, candidates should also have:

• Strong SQL experience
• Experience with at least one of the following tools or languages: R, Python, SAS, R Shiny or similar
• Advanced ability to prepare, analyse and communicate data from multiple sources
• Experience developing or maintaining dashboards, analytical models, reports or data products

For the Technical Business Analyst role, candidates should also have:

• Experience capturing and refining business requirements
• Ability to document business processes, support UAT and contribute to governance frameworks
• Familiarity with Agile artefacts such as user stories, acceptance criteria and backlogs
