We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of complex disaster recovery programs focused on environmental clean-up and recovery initiatives. About the Role In this role, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership across a portfolio of recovery projects, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timeframes, budgets and governance frameworks.
Key responsibilities include: - Delivering complex environmental recovery projects and programs.
- Managing contractor performance, compliance, risk and issue resolution.
- Providing strategic direction across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Monitoring project performance and analysing data to support decision-making.
- Preparing high-quality reports, briefings and governance documentation.
- Managing project risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
- Building strong relationships with contractors, councils, government agencies and delivery partners.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to project team members.
- Representing the program at stakeholder meetings and forums.
About You To be successful, you will have: - Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects or programs.
- Strong project management skills across planning, governance, reporting and risk management.
- Experience managing contractors and operational delivery programs.
- Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to delivery.
Desirable Experience - Disaster recovery programs.
- Environmental management or clean-up initiatives.
- Infrastructure or operational project delivery.
- Knowledge of NSW emergency management frameworks.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Officer to support the delivery of environmental recovery and clean-up projects following natural disaster events.
Working within a dedicated recovery team, you will assist in coordinating projects, managing contractors, monitoring delivery progress and supporting reporting and governance requirements.
About the Role This role focuses on project coordination, stakeholder engagement and contractor management within an operational environment.
Key responsibilities include: - Supporting the delivery of environmental recovery projects and programs.
- Coordinating project activities to achieve agreed milestones and outcomes.
- Managing allocated projects and work packages.
- Monitoring contractor performance and project progress.
- Collecting, maintaining and analysing project data.
- Preparing reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement and collaboration activities.
- Identifying and escalating risks, issues and dependencies.
- Representing the team at meetings and stakeholder forums.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: - Experience coordinating or delivering projects in operational environments.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
