About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially minded Financial Modelling professional to join a high-performing advisory team delivering pricing and cost recovery models across a large, complex environment.

This role sits within a Commercial Evaluation and Advisory function and focuses on developing, refining, and implementing pricing models that support strategic decision-making and whole-of-organisation service delivery.

You’ll take ownership of financial models, working across both new and existing projects—sometimes building from scratch, other times improving and optimising established frameworks.

Commercial Pricing / Financial Modelling Analyst (Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance financial and commercial pricing models, including scenario analysis
• Support business cases and funding submissions with robust, consistent modelling outputs
• Develop Excel-based cost models to support production in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1)
• Identify and integrate external data sources into modelling frameworks
• Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to guide activity-based costing approaches
• Analyse cost structures and support sustainable pricing strategies across multiple service lines

About You You’re a proactive, self-driven analyst who enjoys solving complex problems and working with ambiguity. You combine strong technical modelling skills with commercial thinking and stakeholder engagement.
You will bring:

• Strong experience in financial modelling (advanced Excel essential)
• Exposure to pricing, cost recovery, or commercial analysis
• Ability to build models from scratch and refine existing ones
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple inputs
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and navigating differing viewpoints
• A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities

Highly regarded:

• Exposure to IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) or similar tools
• Experience in government, infrastructure, or large-scale organisations
• Interest or experience in automation (e.g. Python, process improvement, data integration)

Key Challenges
