Indigeco is partnering with an NSW Government aligned infrastructure services provider to recruit an Environmental Advisor to support a busy program of transport maintenance and improvement works across Greater Sydney.
 
This is a practical, site-facing role suited to someone who enjoys working with operational teams, balancing compliance with real-world delivery, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
 
This is an identified opportunity and only open to professionals with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
 
ABOUT THE COMPANY

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Provide environmental advice and support to site teams to ensure works are delivered in line with relevant legislation, approvals, and internal environmental procedures
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance checks (including erosion and sediment controls, waste management, noise and dust controls) and track actions through to closure
• Support environmental incident and non-conformance reporting, including investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned
• Assist with environmental documentation including project environmental plans, checklists, registers and reporting, with strong version control and attention to detail
• Coordinate contractor inductions and uplift environmental awareness and best practice on site through toolbox talks and coaching
• Support stakeholder engagement where environmental impacts require clear communication and timely resolution
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and practical efficiency initiatives that strengthen environmental performance and compliance.

 
WHAT YOU NEED

• You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Demonstrated experience in an Environmental Advisor or Environmental Coordinator role within civil, infrastructure, transport or maintenance environments
• Sound understanding of environmental compliance obligations and practical controls used on live sites
• Strong reporting and documentation skills, with confidence managing registers and maintaining accurate records
• Clear communication style with the ability to influence positively and work collaboratively across operational teams and contractors
• Strong time management and the ability to prioritise competing site demands while meeting deadlines
• Current driver licence and willingness to travel to sites across Greater Sydney
• White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
