An NSW Government agency is seeking two experienced Senior Developers to support Cyber Security NSW, delivering secure, robust software platforms that directly enhance cyber operations. This role is ideal for developers who enjoy hands-on delivery, working closely with security professionals, and building solutions that matter at a state-wide level.

- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay Rate: $800 – $1,000 per day + super
- Working Hours: 8 hours per day | 40 hours per week
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 5 days onsite per fortnight (Monday to Wednesday, flexible by discussion)
About the Role You will work as part of a small, highly skilled team within
Cyber Security NSW, developing and supporting secure internal platforms. The focus is on
Python, Django, and React, with exposure to additional technologies as required.
This role combines hands-on development with testing, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and operational support, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable, and ready for BAU handover.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain secure software platforms using Python, Django, and React
- Perform manual and automated testing to ensure quality and security
- Recommend and support the implementation, configuration, and customisation of COTS and bespoke solutions
- Collaborate with cyber security teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives
- Contribute to technical design and solution documentation
- Conduct code reviews and analysis to support operational uplift
- Maintain and enhance existing applications and platforms
- Provide structured handover, documentation, and BAU support
- Adhere strictly to cyber security standards and best practices
Skills and Experience - Strong experience as a Senior Developer or Software Engineer
- Hands-on expertise with Python, Django, and React
- Experience building secure, production-grade applications
- Solid understanding of testing practices (manual and automated)
- Experience working with existing systems, not just greenfield builds
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation
- Comfortable working in government or highly regulated environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in small teams
