ROLE 1: PR Manager – Vivid Sydney
Contract until late July | Full-time | Sydney-based | Payrate: $88.92 - $97.98+ super

About the Role
The PR Manager – Vivid Sydney is responsible for leading the public relations activity for the Vivid Sydney campaign and managing the delivery of publicity outcomes through an external PR agency.
This role plays a critical part in driving awareness of Vivid Sydney and positioning Sydney as a global events destination, with a strong focus on earned media, strategic storytelling, stakeholder alignment, and agency performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the development and delivery of the Vivid Sydney publicity campaign
• Manage and guide an external PR agency to deliver agreed media outcomes
• Act as the primary PR contact for the festival, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Ensure all PR activity aligns with campaign messaging, brand guidelines, and broader organisational objectives
• Drive media coverage that supports ticket sales, attendance, visitation, and audience engagement
• Manage reactive media, reputational issues, and sensitive communications as required
• Monitor performance against objectives, budgets, and timelines

About You

• Proven experience leading PR campaigns for large-scale events, festivals, or major brands
• Strong background managing PR agencies and media relationships
• Comfortable operating in high-profile, high-pressure environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive or reactive media issues
• Experience in regulated, public-facing, or complex stakeholder environments is highly regarded

ROLE 2: Social Media Specialist – Vivid Sydney
Contract until late July | Full-time | Sydney-based | Payrate: $78 - $86.35 + super

About the Role
The Social Media Specialist – Vivid Sydney is a hands-on delivery role, responsible for the day-to-day management, production, publishing, and optimisation of social media content across key platforms during the Vivid Sydney campaign.
This role sits at the frontline of audience engagement and requires someone who is calm, resilient, and confident working in a live festival environment where issues, trends, and conversations can evolve rapidly.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day publishing and optimisation of social media content across platforms (particularly Instagram and TikTok)
• Maintain and coordinate content calendars to support campaign objectives and approvals
• Coordinate production of social-first content with internal teams, agencies, and creators
• Provide advice on creative formats to support paid social campaigns
• Monitor performance, engagement, and sentiment, using insights to inform content decisions
• Support community management, including responding to comments and escalating issues appropriately
• Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and governance requirements
• Collaborate closely with marketing, PR, content, and event teams

About You

• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing social media channels, not just coordinating content
• Strong understanding of contemporary social platforms, formats, and trends
• Experience working in fast-paced, live, or high-visibility environments (events or festivals highly regarded)
• Confident managing social media during periods of high engagement or sensitivity
• Highly organised, collaborative, and reliable under pressure
• Comfortable working flexible hours during peak festival periods
