Contract Period

• Start Date: 02 February 2026
• End Date: 01 August 2026
• Extension: High likelihood of a further 6-month extension, subject to business requirements and performance

Pay Rate $37.39 per hour + Superannuation
This role is classified as a Non-Shiftworker under the Modern Clerks Award – Grade 3, Year 2, paid slightly above the Award rate.
About the Role ServiceNSW is seeking a reliable, resilient, and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join the Tamworth Service Centre. This role is service-centre based and requires the successful contractor to work on-site for all shifts.

The position involves delivering high-quality customer service across multiple government services, assisting customers with enquiries, applications, and transactions in a fast-paced and sometimes high-volume environment.
Working Hours

• Part-time: 20 hours per week
• Excluding public holidays
• Availability to work Saturdays as required is essential

Training Requirements Successful contractors will be required to complete full-time training and nesting (35 hours per week) for approximately 8–10 weeks.

• Training is delivered across two separate sessions, each consisting of five consecutive days
• Training is conducted at a specialised ServiceNSW training facility in Coffs Harbour or Penrith, NSW (or another approved location)
• Contractors must be available to travel and attend in person during these training periods
• Upon completion of nesting, contractors will revert to their contracted 20 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, professional, and empathetic customer service in a face-to-face service centre environment
• Respond to customer enquiries accurately and professionally
• Process transactions and applications in line with ServiceNSW policies and procedures
• Remain calm, resilient, and solution-focused when managing complex or challenging customer interactions
• Use multiple systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain accurate records and strong email communication standards
• Adhere to privacy, security, and compliance requirements
• Work reliably to rostered hours, including Saturdays as required, and contribute positively to a team environment

Essential Requirements

• 2–3 years’ experience in a customer service role (call centre, administration, retail, or similar)
• Previous experience working in an office environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record
• Proven resilience and ability to work effectively in a high-volume, customer-facing environment
• Intermediate computer skills, including:
  
  • Accurate typing
  • Confident use of mouse and monitor
  • Strong email etiquette
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Microsoft Teams
• Technically savvy, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Ability to work on-site at the Tamworth Service Centre
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and travel as required
• Availability to work Saturdays as required
• National Police Check required
• Face-to-face interview preferred

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working within a government or public sector environment (preferred but not required)

Additional Information This is a fully on-site role based at the Tamworth Service Centre. Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available.
