We are partnering with a large, complex asset-intensive organisation to recruit two senior contract roles supporting a major sustaining capital portfolio in Western Australia.
These roles sit within a high-performing commercial and improvements function and offer the opportunity to make a visible, enterprise-wide impact across capital delivery, governance, and commercial capability.
Both roles are offered on a contract basis, with strong leadership support, clear scope, and genuine influence.
1. Portfolio Lead – Sustaining Capital Contracts & Procurement

Location: Perth CBD
Hours: 40 hours per week | Hybrid (3 days in office)
Rate: $77.75 – $95.00 per hour
Travel: None
Start: Target 1 March (earlier possible)
About the Role
This role provides portfolio-level oversight, reporting and governance across a large sustaining capital portfolio valued at approximately $2 billion across ~400 projects.
It is a portfolio insight and coordination role, not a hands-on procurement or contract administration position. The focus is on enabling leadership to understand portfolio health, identify emerging risks, and make informed decisions through strong reporting discipline and stakeholder engagement.
An established reporting foundation already exists — this role is about enhancing insights and maturity, not building from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic insight into portfolio performance, risk and delivery health
- Interpret portfolio data to identify trends, hotspots and emerging issues
- Manage executive reporting cycles, pre-reads and governance submissions
- Coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders across delivery and commercial teams
- Own portfolio-level slide packs and executive briefing materials
- Represent the sustaining capital portfolio in senior forums
- Support continuous improvement of reporting tools, systems and governance practices
What We’re Looking For - Experience in portfolio reporting, PMO, governance or performance insight roles
- Strong ability to interpret data and translate it into executive-level insights
- Experience working in mid to large, complex organisations
- Excellent organisational skills and comfort working to fixed reporting cadences
- Strong stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
This role is not: procurement sourcing, contract administration, data analytics development, or project delivery.
2. Commercial Excellence Specialist – Sustaining Capital Contracts & Procurement
12-month contract | Capability uplift & training focus
Location: Perth CBD
Hours: 40 hours per week | Hybrid (3 days in office)
Rate: $124.54 – $147.89 per hour
Travel: Regular Pilbara site travel (by agreement, no fixed roster)
Start: Target 1 March (earlier possible)
About the Role This is a high-impact commercial capability uplift role, created to strengthen post-award construction contract management maturity across a large sustaining capital delivery environment.
The role focuses on diagnosing capability gaps, developing tailored training content, and delivering engaging training to both office-based and site-based teams. It is not a BAU contract management role — instead, it is about uplifting commercial behaviours at scale.
You will work alongside an internal subject-matter expert and be highly visible across the business.
Key Responsibilities - Assess current contract management capability and identify priority uplift areas
- Design and develop practical, organisation-specific training modules covering:
- Post-award construction contract administration
- Contractor performance management
- Claims awareness and early response
- Variations, site instructions and commercial risk
- Deliver training across Perth and Pilbara operations (face-to-face and virtual)
- Engage diverse audiences from graduates to senior project managers
- Act as a visible advocate for strong commercial and contract management practices
What We’re Looking For - Practical experience in construction contract management, particularly post-award
- Strong facilitation, presentation and training delivery capability
- Ability to develop engaging content (PowerPoint, Canva or similar)
- Confidence working with site-based teams and travelling to operations
- Strong communication, storytelling and influencing skills
This role is not: contract drafting, dispute resolution, claims negotiation, or procurement sourcing.
Why Consider These Roles? - High visibility across a large sustaining capital portfolio
- Clear mandate, leadership support and defined outcomes
- Opportunity to influence how capital projects are governed and delivered
- Hybrid working in a central Perth CBD location
- Competitive senior contractor rates
- Meaningful work with measurable impact
