Senior OT Networks Officer (x2) – 6 Month Contract + Extension
Field-Based | NSW Statewide Travel | Cutting-Edge OT Network
We currently have two contract opportunities for experienced Senior OT Networks Officers to join a niche team managing and expanding a statewide Operational Technology (OT) network.
These roles are crucial to maintaining NSW’s road and transport systems safely and efficiently.
This is not your typical office-based NOC role — it’s a hands-on, field-focused position supporting one of Australia’s largest OT environments. You’ll work across roadside infrastructure, traffic signals, CCTV, and motorway systems, with travel to multiple sites and data centres across NSW.
About the Role

• Maintain and expand a statewide OT network supporting critical services (traffic signals, CCTV, variable message signs, camera enforcement, transport management systems).
• Mix of BAU support and project work — every day is different.
• Support the Transport Management Centre (TMC) — the highest priority customer for incidents and outages.
• Field-based troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades across 16 key locations and 2 data centres (Silverwater).
• Hybrid working (office 2 days per week), with statewide travel required.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster (transport vehicle provided during on-call weeks).
• Some after-hours changes (e.g. late-night cutovers) as required.

Skills & Experience Essential:

• 5+ years’ hands-on network engineering experience.
• Strong Cisco networking background: MPLS, VXLAN, NVPLS, EVPN.
• Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco Call Manager expertise.
• Palo Alto firewall administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in field networking environments, including roadside or industrial sites.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment with on-call commitments.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across NSW.
• White Card (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

• Exposure to F5 load balancers.
• Experience with AWS / Azure cloud connectivity.
• Previous OT network experience (transport, utilities, or industrial).
