We are a working with a leading logistics company specializing in international shipping to recruit an Ocean Freight Operator to manage and coordinate the movement of goods via ocean freight at their Paisley office 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end ocean freight operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to book cargo space and arrange for the efficient movement of goods.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, manifests, and customs declarations.
• Track shipments and resolve any issues, delays, or discrepancies in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal teams such as customer service, sales, and warehouse operations to ensure smooth operations.
• Negotiate with ocean carriers for rates, transit times, and service levels.
• Maintain records of shipments, invoicing, and other administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all international shipping regulations and customs requirements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in ocean freight imports and exports in a freight forwarding company 
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office Suite.
