The Company
Our Client is an event production agency and they are looking for a Director of Sales.
The Role
The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth and leading and executing the sales strategy. The role will be building and managing a sales team, as well as owning and growing a personal book of business to grow the company. The Director of Sales must have a background in business development and sales and a strong client network of relationships across event production, experiential and corporate events. Role is Remote Hybrid in NY.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Owning the sales process from pitch to close across events, experiential, festivals, and corporate events
- Develop methodologies to achieve sales targets, execute the sales strategy and drive the sales pipeline
- Keep abreast of RFPs and respond in a timely manner
- Negotiate contracts and close on new business
- Building and developing a sales team
- Manage the day to day client relationships and communications
- Working cross functionally with internal teams across production, creative, operations and senior leadership for proposals and pitches
- Exceed annual sales targets
- Stay abreast of competitors and trends in the industry
This Job is Ideal for Someone who has - Proven experience in sales and business development within the event production and live events space
- Customer focused mindset
- Exceptional experience managing, writing and responding to Client briefs and RFPs
- Proven track record of closing deals in the $M+ range
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders including event operations and creative teams
- Proven experience being the voice for the company and maintaining exceptional client relationships
- Proven experience working with multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Strong project management skills
- Strong attention to detail, flexibility and accountability for results
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for events and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure agency environment
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills
- Strong desire to work with a fun, creative and entrepreneurial team in a fast-paced agency environment.
- The Candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; as well as participate in overnight travel for events
- Local and interstate travel may be required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 + benefits + commission annually, dependent on experience. The salary is based on a range of factors, including relevant experience, skills, knowledge, job-related qualifications, complexity of the role, market considerations, geographic location and region, and budgetary considerations. This is the anticipated base salary component of the total compensation package, which may include additional company benefits such as bonuses, commission, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and retirement.
