Lead AI / Platform Engineering manager (Hands-On) �� Hybrid | High-Impact Role | AWS | Terraform | Agentic AI

A fast-growing, technology-led organisation is seeking a hands-on Lead AI / Platform Engineering manager to drive the design and delivery of AI-enabled solutions focused on operational efficiency and platform uplift.
This is a player-coach role suited to a broadly skilled engineer who combines strong software engineering capability with deep AWS infrastructure experience and a consultative business mindset.
You’ll operate across architecture, build, experimentation, and stakeholder engagement — helping shape a small but high-impact capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build agentic AI workflows to drive operational efficiency
• Integrate AI solutions across CRM, core platforms, and contact centre systems
• Lead structured experimentation including prompt optimisation
• Build widgets and services within the platform/CRM ecosystem
• Deliver deeper technical integrations across distributed systems
• Evaluate and implement workforce AI tooling
• Enhance chat and knowledge capabilities (including MCP connectivity)
• Engage business stakeholders to gather requirements and shape solutions
• Provide hands-on technical leadership within a lean team environment
• Mentor and support a future AI Engineer hire

What We’re Looking For Technical

• Strong experience across the AWS ecosystem
• Proven Infrastructure as Code capability (Terraform preferred)
• Background in software development / product engineering
• Experience delivering AI/LLM-enabled solutions in production
• Solid understanding of modern cloud and integration patterns

Style & Approach

• Highly hands-on and delivery focused
• Broad technologist comfortable across multiple stacks
• Consultative mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Able to operate effectively in fast-moving environments

Leadership

• Previous people leadership or strong mentorship capability
• Comfortable operating in a player-coach capacity
• Ability to guide technical direction while remaining close to the tools
