Our Fintech client is committed to delivering innovative financial solutions that empower merchant partners and their customers, fostering growth and enhancing financial well-being. As they expand, they are looking for an experienced Collections Officer to join the team.

In this role, you will be essential in building relationships with our valued customers, providing exceptional service, and finding tailored solutions to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and nurture strong relationships with customers
• Negotiate, implement, and monitor payment arrangements
• Maintain a professional and trustworthy demeanor, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Conduct a high volume of outbound and inbound collection calls
• Identify customers facing financial hardship and provide appropriate support
• Recommend alternative collection strategies, such as hardship plans, repossessions, or legal actions
• Conduct investigations and skip-tracing as necessary
• Take full accountability for managing assigned accounts
• Keep meticulous records of customer interactions and communications
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and quality standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in a collections environment, assisting customers in debt or experiencing financial hardship
• Background in customer service, either over the phone or in-person, within a values-driven organization
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to make sound decisions in financial matters
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and negotiate effectively

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry accreditations
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach
• Collaborative team player who works well with others
