Job Purpose: 
The SOC L1 Analyst plays a critical role as the first line of defense in the company cybersecurity posture. The primary responsibility is to monitor and respond to real-time security incidents, ensuring prompt triage and escalation of potential threats while maintaining the security and integrity of the company's environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Security Monitoring:

• Monitor and analyze security events from various tools and systems, including SIEM (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight, LogRhythm), firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
• Identify, assess, and document potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

Incident Detection and Response:

• Act as the initial responder to security incidents, conducting preliminary investigations and analysis.
• Triage incidents to determine priority levels and initiate escalation as necessary.

Alert Triage and Analysis:

• Analyze alerts to determine their validity, assess false positives, and identify potential anomalies.
• Provide detailed, accurate documentation for incidents and findings.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate logs and reports on incidents, including actions taken and outcomes.
• Ensure thorough handovers and provide updates to senior analysts and SOC leadership.

Threat Intelligence:

• Leverage internal and external threat intelligence sources to enhance detection capabilities.
• Correlate threat intelligence with observed activity to identify potential risks.

Communication and Escalation:

• Collaborate with SOC team members to resolve incidents efficiently.
• Escalate complex incidents to L2 or L3 analysts with detailed analysis and evidence.

Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to the enhancement of SOC processes and documentation.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on emerging threats and security tools.

Key Requirements:
 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 0-2 years in information security, cybersecurity, or IT operations preferred. Entry-level candidates with certifications are encouraged to apply.
