Site Engineer Location: Portugal Data Centre Projects
Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer or Project Manager, the Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day engineering execution on-site. You will oversee setting out, dimensional control, and quality assurance for either Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) packages or complex Mechanical/Electrical (MEP) infrastructure installations. You will ensure the project is built safely, on time, and strictly according to the client's high-tech design specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Out & Levelling: Perform precise setting out, leveling, and dimensional controls using GPS, Total Stations, and digital engineering tools.
Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Maintain rigorous QA systems, manage "Request for Information" (RFI) logs, and execute snagging/handover documentation for server rooms and data halls.
Subcontractor Supervision: Supervise local Portuguese and international trade subcontractors, ensuring work aligns with construction drawings and agreed methods.
Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce the company’s strict EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) protocols on-site, including reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Progress Reporting: Keep accurate daily site diaries, track material quantities, and report daily/weekly production outputs to the project management team.
Design Coordination: Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify design clashes before construction begins.
Candidate Requirements
Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:2 to 5+ years of experience as a Site Engineer. Prior exposure to heavy civils, industrial projects, pharmaceuticals, or data centres is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD, robotic Total Stations (Leica/Trimble), and modern BIM/Procore software.
Logistics: Full flexibility to live and work in Portugal on a rotational basis.
Legal:Full EU Passport or Right to Work in the EU is mandatory for immediate compliance deployment by an Irish entity.
