Project Quantity Surveyor

Our client is seeking a project quantity surveyor to drive the financial and commercial success of large scale residential and civils projects. Responsibilities span pre-contract cost planning and subcontractor procurement to post-contract cost control, monthly valuations, and final accounts

Key Responsibilities
 
Pre-Contract & Procurement

• Cost Planning: Prepare detailed budgets, cost plans, and viability models for residential subdivisions, mixed-use apartment blocks, and civil infrastructure
• Tendering: Draft tender packages, evaluate bids, and conduct cost comparisons.
• Subcontractor Procurement: Negotiate and appoint subcontractors, ensuring terms align with the project delivery schedule
• .Contract Vetting: Review and negotiate commercial risks within main contracts

Post-Contract & Commercial Delivery

• Cost Control: Manage project expenditure against the budget to ensure commercial viability and avoid cost overruns
• .Valuations: Prepare interim valuations, manage variations, and track actual costs versus bids.
• Subcontractor Management: Review and approve subcontractor applications, payments, and claims
• Financial Reporting: Produce monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and commercial risk reports for the Construction Director. 

Risk & Team Collaboration

•  Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks across civil engineering (utilities, roads) and vertical residential building.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, Design Teams, and external consultants.
