HR Consultant | Your next step in HR Flexible working | Brisbane OR Gold Coast!

Ready to move beyond HR coordination and take on more? Maybe you are an HR Coordinator who is already doing more than your title suggests?

Maybe you are an HR Advisor who wants broader exposure, more responsibility and the chance to work directly with leaders.

You know you are ready for your next step. You just need the right environment to make it happen!

That is where wattsnext comes in.

We are a modern HR consultancy that works with businesses across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and beyond.

We think differently about HR.

We are curious. We challenge traditional thinking. We solve problems. We look at the whole business, not just the HR process sitting in front of us.

And because we work across lots of different businesses, you will experience more variety here in 12 months than you might see in years inside one organisation.

Why this role is different This is not a role where you will spend the next two years waiting for someone to decide you are ready for more.
We want someone who wants to grow!

You will work alongside experienced HR consultants who will help you build your confidence, judgement and commercial thinking.
As you develop, you will increasingly have the opportunity to own client relationships, make recommendations and become the person leaders call when they need help working something out.
One day you could be helping with a performance issue.
The next you might be involved in a restructure, recruitment project, leadership workshop, remuneration review, employment contract, HR strategy or a completely unexpected people problem.
Our clients are different.
Their businesses are different.
And the problems they bring us are different.
If you like learning, variety and solving problems, you will love it here.
What you might be doing You could be:

• Supporting managers through employee relations and performance matters
• Helping clients interpret Awards and employment obligations
• Sitting in on client meetings and learning how experienced consultants approach complex situations
• Drafting contracts, letters, policies and practical HR documentation
• Helping deliver restructures and organisational change
• Working on recruitment, remuneration, engagement and people projects
• Coaching managers through difficult conversations
• Researching a problem and coming back with a practical recommendation
• Working with clients across completely different industries and stages of growth
• Gradually taking ownership of your own client relationships

You will not be expected to know everything on day one.
That is the point.
We want to give you the exposure, support and opportunity to become a seriously good HR professional.
Who we think will be great You might currently be an:
HR Coordinator | People & Culture Coordinator | HR Advisor | People Advisor | Junior HRBP
Your title matters much less to us than your potential.
We are looking for someone who:

• Has solid HR foundations and wants to build on them
• Is confident enough to have a conversation with a manager, even if you are still developing your advisory skills
• Is naturally curious and likes figuring things out
• Asks good questions instead of simply following a process
• Wants to understand how businesses actually work
• Has good judgement and common sense
• Can write clearly and communicate like a human
• Likes variety and gets energy from learning new things
• Is comfortable asking for help when you need it
• Wants feedback and genuinely wants to improve
• Can manage competing priorities and keep things moving
• Brings ideas, energy and personality to a team

You absolutely do not need consulting experience- this we can teach.

What is harder to teach is curiosity, initiative, judgement and a genuine desire to grow.

HR, but not the old-school version We don't believe good HR is about quoting legislation at people or producing a 12-page policy every time there is a problem.

Our clients want us to understand what is happening, work through the complexity and help them decide what to do next.

• Sometimes the answer is technical.
• Sometimes it is commercial.
• Sometimes it is about people.

Usually, it is a combination of all three.
We like people who are prepared to think.

People who ask, "Is there a better way to solve this?"

And people who are comfortable saying, "Here's what I think we should do."

That is the kind of HR professional we will help you become
.
How we work We believe flexibility and connection can coexist.

Depending on what you are working on, you could be:

• Working from home
• Meeting a client
• Working alongside another consultant
• Heading into a client site for a workshop or meeting

Most of all, we trust our people.

What matters is that you do great work, look after your clients and contribute to the team.

Where could this take you?

This is the part we are most excited about.
Consulting gives you exposure that is incredibly difficult to replicate in a traditional HR role.

Instead of learning one business, you learn ten.

Instead of seeing one leadership style, one culture or one type of employee issue, you see dozens.

You start connecting the dots.

You become more confident.

You become more commercial.

And before long, you are no longer just processing HR tasks.

You are advising businesses on what they should do next.

If you are ambitious about your HR career and want an environment that will stretch you, support you and give you the opportunity to move up, we would love to meet you.

Apply now. You don't need to tick every box. If this sounds like the direction you want your career to go, we want to hear from you!
