About Direct Care Resources
With over 25 years of experience, Direct Care Resources is a trusted care provider in South-East Queensland. We prioritise the health, safety, and well-being of our participants, specialising in support for SIL (Supported Independent Living) houses and Child Protection Services.
As a Support Worker, you will assist participants with challenging behaviours, support individuals with physical, intellectual, or psychiatric disabilities, and provide compassionate care to vulnerable children and young people under Child Protection Orders.
Your Responsibilities
- Support daily living activities including housekeeping, cooking, grocery shopping, personal care, and hygiene while maintaining safe routines and appropriate boundaries.
- Assist children, young people, and participants with community access and transportation (school, appointments, activities).
- Use trauma‑informed approaches to support emotional and behavioural needs in line with individual care and behaviour support plans.
- Complete mandatory shift notes, handovers, and incident reports accurately in accordance with Child Safety and industry standards.
- Safely administer medication as per policy and individual care plans.
- Be willing to travel within the Southwest Region and support participants with community access.
About You

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.
The successful candidate will also have flexible availability, including sleepovers, overnights, weekends, and varied shift times.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements To be considered for this role, you
must hold (Completed, In progress or enrolled)
Minimum Certificate IV qualification in: - Community Services
- Disability
- Youth Work
- Mental Health
- Or a closely related field
Additional requirements:
- Current QLD Driver’s Licence (Open or P2)
- Reliable vehicle with registration and comprehensive insurance
- Eligibility to work in Australia (Passport/Birth Certificate)
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates
- Valid Blue Card & NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module
- Child Safety Division – LCS2 Clearance
