Position Summary
The Production Crew Member is responsible for assisting in harvest operations, meat processing, grinding, and smoking production within a USDA-inspected facility. This role supports daily production throughput while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding position focused on consistency,
accountability, and production flow. The role does not include supervisory
responsibilities.
Pay: $16/hour
Schedule: Full-time
Required Availability: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
Supervision: No supervisory responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Kill Floor & Harvest Support
● Assist in harvest operations under supervision
● Support carcass breakdown and movement
● Maintain sanitation and safety standards during harvest
● Follow all USDA procedures and documentation protocols
Processing & Fabrication
● Assist in cutting, trimming, and portioning meat products
● Support production of retail cuts and bulk orders
● Maintain organized workflow to support daily throughput
Grinding & Value-Added Production
● Operate grinders and assist in ground beef production
● Support batching and preparation of value-added products
● Monitor product handling to maintain quality standards
Smoking & Cooking Operations
● Assist with preparation and handling of smoked products
● Follow time and temperature procedures
● Record required production data accurately
Sanitation & Compliance
● Follow all USDA and internal food safety protocols
● Maintain clean and orderly work areas
● Assist with daily sanitation procedures
● Support documentation accuracy related to production activities
Requirements
● Reliable attendance and punctuality (must be available 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
● Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
● Comfortable working in cold environments
● Comfortable working around raw meat and production equipment
● Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
● Ability to follow structured procedures consistently
● Team-oriented mindset
Preferred (Not Required)
● Experience in meat processing, food production, or manufacturing
● Familiarity with USDA-regulated environments
● Experience operating production equipment
