MyStaff is partnering with a well-established company in the transportation industry to add a Staff Accountant to their Omaha corporate team. This is a great opportunity for an accountant who enjoys variety, wants to be involved in more than just the day-to-day, and is looking to grow with a solid organization. This is an in-office position in Omaha.
What you’ll be doing:

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with monthly financial reporting
• Support tax compliance, fixed assets, intercompany accounting and other accounting projects
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established accounting procedures
• Help identify and implement process improvements across the accounting function
• Work with other departments to support company-wide financial and operational goals

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required
• Previous accounting experience with a solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Public accounting/audit experience preferred, but not required
• Experience with reconciliations, financial reporting and general ledger accounting
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and communicate effectively
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems
