Accounts Payable Specialist - contract

Responsibilities:

Apply accounting principles and established procedures to support accurate day-to-day financial operations.
Process, code, and reconcile invoices, payments, and financial transactions across multiple entities, departments, and cost centers.
Monitor changes in payment allocations, account activity, and departmental or program assignments.
Calculate and prepare recurring payments and financial transactions on monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual schedules.
Collect and verify required documentation to ensure transactions meet company policies and accounting procedures.
Review and compare financial data from multiple sources to identify errors, discrepancies, or missing information.
Perform account reconciliations and research variances to maintain accurate and reliable financial records.
Provide general accounting and administrative support across multiple departments and programs.
Assist with month-end close activities, financial statements, reports, and other accounting-related projects.
Maintain organized electronic accounting records and ensure documentation is filed accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
Utilize accounting software and financial systems to enter, update, track, and retrieve financial information.

Requirements:

Associate degree or higher in accounting, business, finance, or a related field preferred.
Professional, dependable, and trustworthy with sound judgment and discretion.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other common business software and technology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and consistently meet deadlines.
