MyStaff is partnering with a well-established and growing construction company in Omaha to identify a Controller who will play a key leadership role within the organization. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading people, strengthening financial processes, and partnering with leadership to support continued growth.

The Controller will oversee the company’s accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, and provide accurate financial reporting and insight to company leadership. This individual will also supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals while helping ensure strong financial controls and efficient processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Prepare and review financial reports and analysis to support leadership decision-making
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing leadership and guidance
• Partner with company executives and operational leaders to provide financial insight and support strategic planning
• Monitor construction-related financial activity, including job costing and project performance reporting
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Strong understanding of construction accounting and job costing
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with operational leaders and executives
