Contract Staff / Senior Accountant (Part-Time, Hybrid/Remote) Location: Omaha or Columbus, NE (and surrounding areas) Duration: 6 months (potential extension or permanent opportunity) Hours: 20–30 hours/week Start: Interviews ASAP | Start shortly after MyStaff is partnering with a growing small ag business to find a Contract Staff or Senior Accountant who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making an impact. This is a very flexible hybrid/work-from-home role with additional support needs—ideal for an experienced accountant looking for meaningful part-time work.
What You’ll Do:
Handle solid bookkeeping and accounting functions
Prepare and post journal entries
Manage AP and AR
Ensure GAAP compliance
Work comfortably with debits and credits
Prepare and review financial statements
Set up and maintain the chart of accounts
Use QuickBooks effectively
Support cost accounting activities, including tracking and analyzing costs
Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliation
What We’re Looking For:
Staff or Senior-level accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
Hands-on QuickBooks experience (required)
Experience with cost accounting and inventory a plus
Detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable supporting a small business
Ability to work independently in a flexible environment
