Join a respected Australian bank at a critical time of transition, providing senior-level oversight and leadership across regulatory compliance and AML/CTF obligations. This is a hands-on opportunity to manage and strengthen the Bank’s second line of defence during a key leadership handover.
  
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Leader to step in on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This role will work closely with the outgoing incumbent (who departs early September) to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer and continued regulatory compliance oversight during the interim period. There is potential for this position to convert to permanent should there be mutual interest.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the Bank’s Regulatory Compliance and AML/CTF frameworks (2LOD)
• Provide strategic and operational compliance advice to senior stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory obligations (APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, OAIC)
• Maintain and uplift compliance frameworks, policies, and monitoring programs
• Lead regulatory engagements and ensure timely reporting and issue remediation
• Provide day-to-day compliance support across retail banking operations

  
About You
You will bring deep experience in regulatory compliance within the banking sector, along with proven leadership of 2LOD functions. You’re confident engaging with regulators and have a strong grasp of retail banking obligations.
  
We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as Head of Compliance or Senior Compliance Manager within banking
• Strong knowledge of APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC and OAIC regulatory frameworks
• Solid understanding of AML/CTF compliance and oversight responsibilities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Availability to start quickly and overlap with the incumbent through August
