We're currently representing a unique opportunity with an established Payments Institution, backed by a leading global banking group. The business is entering an exciting phase of operational risk uplift — and they need someone who can help lead the charge.
 
Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening risk maturity, embedding CPS 230-aligned practices, and engaging with stakeholders across the business and international risk teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework in line with CPS 230 and global best practices
• Facilitate Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across the business, including review, challenge, and assurance
• Oversee Third-Party Risk Management and outsourcing risk activities
• Manage operational incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Provide oversight for change initiatives, including projects and technology changes
• Contribute to operational risk reporting, KRI development, and Board updates
• Deliver training to uplift awareness and embed risk culture
• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Audit, and ICT Risk for a holistic risk view
• Support regulatory engagements and internal/external audits

 
What You'll Bring:

• 3-5+ years' experience in second-line Operational Risk within an ADI, fintech, or payments institution
• Strong working knowledge of APRA standards (CPS 230 essential)
• Proven capability across RCSA, third-party risk, incident management, and change risk oversight
• Bachelor's degree in Risk, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with risk systems and tools (Excel a must; Power BI or SQL a plus)
• Resilience, integrity, and the confidence to challenge constructively
