A leading organisation in the Hunter region is seeking an experienced Business Continuity Specialist to lead a short-term organisational resilience uplift, ensuring the business is fully prepared to manage and recover from disruption.
You will work autonomously to deliver Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), optimise critical functions, and enhance the organisation’s Business Continuity Framework. This is a high-impact role for a practitioner who thrives on driving outcomes with minimal handholding.
  
What you’ll be doing

• Conduct BIAs across multiple functions, reviewing recovery objectives and critical processes.
• Update and refine the Business Continuity Framework and Policy.
• Develop and pilot business continuity plans and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across the business, as well as Emergency Management and IT Disaster Recovery teams.
• Report on progress and insights to steering committees, highlighting gaps, risks, and opportunities.

  
About you

• 3–5+ years’ experience in business continuity, crisis management, or organisational resilience within complex, regulated environments (e.g., government, education, finance, defence, energy/mining).
• Proven ability to deliver BIAs and BCPs autonomously and effectively.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to work across multiple functions.
• Able to assess current state quickly and produce meaningful, actionable outputs.
