Are you an experienced risk and compliance leader who thrives in complex, purpose-led environments? This newly created opportunity offers the chance to lead strategic risk and governance initiatives across a high-impact public sector organisation dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in NSW.

Working within a forward-thinking Strategy & Governance division, you will drive enterprise-wide accountability, integrity, and performance through robust risk frameworks and continuous quality improvement. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll influence culture, strategy, and executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise and operational risk management frameworks in alignment with ISO 31000, ISO 37301, and ISO 37000 standards.
• Provide independent, strategic risk and compliance advice to the Executive Leadership Team, Audit & Risk Committee, and key stakeholders.
• Lead the delivery of a structured risk improvement program across the organisation, embedding strong governance and ethical decision-making practices.
• Oversee fraud prevention, corruption control, and internal compliance programs, ensuring alignment with legislation and public sector best practice.
• Design and deliver education programs to uplift risk maturity, build capability, and foster a positive risk and compliance culture at all levels.
• Monitor internal controls, conduct risk reviews, and ensure timely and effective reporting across all business areas.

About You:
You’re a credible and influential risk leader with a strong foundation in public sector governance. You bring a collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to navigate complexity, challenge legacy thinking, and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
You will have:

• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise risk, compliance, or governance functions—ideally within a public sector, regulatory, or highly governed environment.
• Strong working knowledge of government operations, financial and ethical accountability frameworks, and NSW public sector standards.
• Proven capability in managing risk strategy, fraud and ethics programs, and compliance frameworks end-to-end.
• Highly developed communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in risk management, governance, public administration, or a related field.
• Professional membership with RMIA or equivalent (or commitment to achieving this).
