About the Role
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Compliance & WHS Officer is responsible for managing the organisation’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) Program, incident reporting, injury management, and compliance processes. This role will ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to, providing guidance and support to staff to maintain a safe workplace.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage workplace incidents, maintaining accurate records and registers.
• Oversee injury management and workers' compensation claims, acting as the primary contact for WorkCover Queensland.
• Promote and implement workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives, including staff training and vaccination programs.
• Ensure compliance with employment safety requirements, including Blue Card and teacher/nurse registrations.
• Conduct audits, manage policy updates, and oversee mandatory training to ensure regulatory adherence

  
What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications in Health and Safety or a related field.
• Experience in workplace safety, compliance, or risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Understanding of compliance requirements in an educational setting (desirable).
• First Aid and Rehabilitation & Return-to-Work Coordinator certifications (desirable).
