Job Summary
The Manufacturing / Process Engineer will support the company's goals and vision by developing, maintaining, and improving production processes. This role focuses on process stability, continuous improvement, and capital project execution while partnering with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Support daily manufacturing operations by monitoring process performance and responding to process-related issues.
Develop, document, and maintain work instructions, process flows, routings, and standard work procedures.
Analyze production data, including scrap, rework, cycle time, and downtime, to identify process improvement opportunities.
Implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
Support new product and process introductions through process setup, trials, and documentation.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address process issues.
Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce scrap, improve labor efficiency, and lower material costs.
Facilitate kaizen events and monitor improvement initiatives to ensure sustainable results.
Maintain process improvements through updated documentation and operator training.
Lead capital projects, including equipment selection, justification, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Prepare capital expenditure requests, including ROI analyses and technical specifications.
Coordinate with vendors, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure successful equipment installation and project execution.
Support process validation, capability studies, and acceptance testing for new or modified equipment.
Update process documentation, standard work, and operating procedures following capital project implementation.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with internal quality systems and customer requirements.
Support non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and compliance.
Integrate safety, ergonomics, and risk mitigation principles into process design and improvement activities.
Support internal audits and documentation reviews to maintain compliance and process reliability.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related discipline) required.
4–7 years of hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience within a production environment.
Demonstrated ability to independently analyse, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience managing or supporting capital projects.
Strong understanding of process capability, cycle time analysis, scrap reduction, and manufacturing efficiency metrics.
Proven experience developing and maintaining work instructions, standard work, and process documentation.
Experience supporting capital equipment installation, commissioning, and process validation activities.
Hands-on approach with the ability to work closely alongside production teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with practical application of root cause analysis methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing data.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions.
Ability to travel up to 15% as required to support business needs.
