COMMERCIAL / COST CONTROLLER | PERTH OR GERALDTON | FULL TIME

We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Cost Controller to join our growing civil construction team. You will manage project costs, oversee financial reporting, and ensure commercial risks are controlled across major infrastructure and civil works projects. 

This is a full-time position based in our Perth (Rivervale) or Geraldton Head office, working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). Please note this is not a FIFO role and relocation assistance is not available.
  
Role Responsibilities

• Manage and process monthly client progress claims from initial draft through to payment certification.
• Lead subcontractor engagement by sourcing quotes, evaluating bids, and preparing contract packages.
• Negotiate commercially viable terms with subcontractors and suppliers to maximize project profitability.
• Identify, value, and track contract variations, ensuring all claims are submitted and approved within time limits.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures against baselines.
• Prepare monthly commercial and financial project reports for senior management. 

Skills, Experience & Abilities

• Proven experience as a Cost Controller or Commercial Manager in civil construction.
• Strong background in managing variations and progress claims on major civil works.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills for managing subcontractor engagement.
• Deep understanding of contracts, budgeting, and cost-tracking and program software including Microsoft Project.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Finance, or Construction Management.
