Finance and Payroll Lead (Part Time)
Tracks Integrated Services and TRACKS Care
- Permanent part time, around 28.5 hours a week
- $90,000 to $100,000 pro rata plus super
- Office based in Woolner, Darwin
- Your own full-time support person
About us
Tracks Integrated Services (Tracks IS) is an Indigenous majority-owned and managed, female-led recruitment company working across the Northern Territory and Queensland. TRACKS Care is an Aboriginal-owned, NDIS-registered support provider in Darwin and Katherine.
Both businesses are growing, and we're looking for an experienced payroll and finance person to lead the function across both.
About the role
This is one role across both businesses. You'll make sure our internal staff and labour hire workers are paid correctly and on time, invoices and NDIS claims go out right, and the books reconcile each month. You'll report to the Managing Director and work with our operations teams and external accountants.
It's a new role, but you won't be starting from scratch. You'll have a proper handover, including running pay cycles alongside the existing process before you take them over fully.
You'll also help us recruit a full-time offsite support person who'll report to you. They'll do the high-volume processing, you'll review and sign off, and they'll give you cover when you're on leave.
What you'll be doing
- Leading weekly payroll for internal staff across both businesses
- Running TRACKS Care payroll under the SCHADS Award, including shift penalties, broken shifts, sleepovers, travel and allowances
- Leading weekly labour hire payroll for Tracks IS workers placed with clients across the NT and Queensland, including Award interpretation across different industries
- Making sure labour hire hours line up with client billing
- Overseeing NDIS claiming for TRACKS Care
- Overseeing invoicing, supplier payments and debtor follow-up
- Signing off reconciliations and month-end for both businesses
- Monthly management reporting
- Managing system access, controls and processes
- Leading and reviewing the work of your support person
About you
- Solid hands-on Australian payroll experience, including STP
- Proven experience applying the SCHADS Award. This is essential.
- Confidence interpreting and applying multiple Modern Awards
- Strong reconciliation and month-end skills
- Experience reviewing or supervising other people's work
- Confidence using Xero, Astute, Fieldglass and Flowlogic.
- Good judgement and care with confidential information
- Respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture, and an understanding of what it means to work in an Indigenous-owned business
Labour hire or recruitment payroll and NDIS claiming experience will be well regarded.
Hours and days
We're flexible on how the 28.5 hours are worked, whether that's 4 shorter days or 3 longer ones. We'll work with you on days and pay cycles so they line up, so tell us what works for you.
What's on offer
- Pro rata leave
- Flexibility on your days
- A new role you'll help shape from the start
- Backup from your own full-time support person
- Two growing Indigenous majority-owned businesses
