Our client who is a well known retail brand, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in automating and enhancing the functionality of their website as well as focussing on security, performance, and scalability while leveraging cutting-edge AWS technologies to build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure and data solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise infrastructure for both public and internal RESTful APIs.
• Architect and maintain event-driven solutions using Pub/Sub, EventBridge, and SQS.
• Develop scalable ETL pipelines and manage data integrations using AWS Glue, DMS, and RDS.
• Enhance automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, AWS SAM, and CDK.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab to streamline deployments.
• Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and security practices across AWS environments.

• Data Services: AWS Glue (PySpark ETL scripting, schema discovery, partitioning), AWS DMS (CDC, schema conversions, performance tuning), RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora).
• Compute & Storage: Lambda (event-driven processing), S3 (optimised storage, lifecycle policies, encryption).
• Infrastructure & Security: API Gateway, WAF, CloudFront, Step Functions, VPC, IAM policies.

• Strong programming skills in Python (must-have), with additional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Expertise in SQL for data transformation, indexing, and optimisation.
• Experience with Apache Spark and Athena for big data processing.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, AWS SAM, CDK).
• Monitoring & Logging: CloudWatch, NewRelic, Splunk.
• Security & Compliance: Role-based access controls, IAM policies.
