Job Title: Data Scientist – AI & ML Modelling
Location: Melbourne, Hybrid (50% Onsite)
Contract: 6-Months (with a view to extend) Rate: $800 + GST per day
About Our Client:
Our client is a large Australian marketer, wholesaler, and distributor of healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical products. As they accelerate their AI journey, they are expanding their data team to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a mid-level Data Scientist with a strong software development background to join a dynamic and fast-paced team. This role involves designing, building, and deploying machine learning models across a variety of use cases, including predictive and preventive analytics. You will work with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Python, and Azure, leveraging AWS Bedrock for LLM modelling where applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models to address business needs.
- Train and operationalise models to ensure seamless integration into production.
- Balance notebook-based solutions with LLM modelling, depending on project requirements.
- Work in an agile environment to ship products fast while maintaining high standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Act as a delivery lead in your domain, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of AI models.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Skills & Experience: - Strong experience in Python, Databricks, and Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and AWS Bedrock.
- Proven ability to build and deploy machine learning models in production.
- Hands-on experience with both predictive and preventive modelling.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive delivery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
