About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on IT Leader to step into an established retail brand in Melbourne. You'll work directly with the leadership team to get across the current technology landscape, get into the detail, and help shape what comes next. This isn't a strategy from the sidelines engagement. They need someone who can roll up their sleeves, run diagnostics, manage their vendors, and drive things forward.

What You'll Be Doing
Getting into the business to understand their vision, needs, and pain points across the technology function. Running diagnostics across the current environment, identifying risk, and working out where the gaps are. Providing independent technology advice to the exec team and representing the business to its vendors. Shaping a pragmatic technology strategy and helping define a better operating model. 

What We're Looking For

• A former Head of IT or CIO from an SMB retail background who's been in the detail, not above it.
• You've walked into businesses, understood what they needed, and left them in a better place than you found them.
• You've operated in lean teams where you've had to make decisions with limited documentation and no one behind you to delegate to.
• You've sat at the table with leadership and helped shape strategy that's realistic and executable.
• Your experience needs to come from inside an SMB retail business, not from the outside looking in.
