Business Development Manager – Tech & AI Consultancy (First Hire)

About the Role

This role is all about finding and winning new business.
You’ll be responsible for identifying target clients, opening new relationships, and driving opportunities through to close.

Working closely with the founders and technical leaders, you’ll shape outreach strategies, craft proposals, and position the consultancy as a trusted technology partner across software, cloud, and AI.

This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter who thrives on building networks, uncovering opportunities, and growing something from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across target industries.
• Generate and qualify leads through outbound activity, networking, and market research.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders in technology and business functions.
• Work closely with the founders and delivery teams to develop proposals and solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement.
• Report on pipeline health, forecasts, and new business performance.
• Contribute ideas to refine go-to-market strategy and growth initiatives.

About You

• Proven track record in new business development within a technology consultancy, software services, or digital environment.
• Strong hunter mindset with demonstrated success generating and closing new opportunities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong understanding of software, cloud, or AI-driven solutions 
• Self-motivated, commercially minded, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
• Thrives in a fast-moving, founder-led business where initiative and ownership are valued.
